What is NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) ?

NEET (UG) National Eligibility cum Entrance Test is a national level entrance exam that is conducted in India for admission to undergraduate medical and dental courses in government and private medical colleges across the country. It is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on behalf of the Medical Council of India (MCI) and the Dental Council of India (DCI).

Educational Qualification For NEET Exam-

The candidate must have passed Class 12 or its equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology as compulsory subjects. The minimum qualifying marks for general category candidates is 50%, while for reserved category candidates it is 40%.

Nationality –

The candidate must be an Indian citizen or an Overseas Citizen of India (OCI).

Exam Pattern of NEET (UG)

The NEET (UG) exam is a three-hour long, pen and paper-based exam, consisting of 180 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology. Each correct answer is awarded four marks, while one mark is deducted for each incorrect answer. The exam is conducted in 11 languages, including English, Hindi, and regional languages.
